Thanks, Exchange Club!

The staff and students of Back Bay/Monte Vista would like to thank the Exchange Club of Newport Harbor for their wonderful support.  Because of the Exchange Club's kindness, Back Bay/Monte Vista's ASB will provide the students with a great Cinco de Mayo celebration and discounted tickets to the prom. The Exchange Club's support and  generosity will also allow several of our students to begin their paths to college degrees. Thank you again, Exchange Club of Newport Harbor!

Disneyland Grad Nite 2017 Information

TICKETS FOR THIS YEAR'S GRAD NITE WILL GO ON SALE ON MARCH 1st.

Grad Nite is Wednesday, June 14th from 3 pm to about 3:00 am. You may also purchase an additional ticket for a guest (ages 16-20). To guarantee a ticket for Grad Nite you must pay by the deadline (Wednesday, April 26th).  In order to secure tickets, we have to prepay 45 days in advance for all students attending Grad Nite. Turning in a completed (2-sided) permission slip and paying $100 cash before the deadline will guarantee yourself a ticket (provided we don't sell out before the deadline).

Wednesday, June 14th is an early out day. We will begin boarding the bus at about 2:30 pm on June 14th and leave Back Bay as soon as everyone is here or at 3 pm at the very latest.  At the end of Grad Nite, we will board the bus at 2:00 am and leave from Disneyland as soon as everyone has boarded the buses about 2:30 am (returning to Back Bay HS at about 3:00 am).  This will give us about 10 hours of Grad Nite excitement.  We will have access to both parks (Disneyland and California Adventure). California Adventure closes to the public at 10 pm where we will finish the night at the exclusive Grad Nite only party from 10 pm to 2 am.

Both parks are open regular business hours that Wednesday.  If you have a season pass you could go on your own (providing your own transportation), but you would not be able to participate in the exclusive Grad Nite only party in California Adventure from 10 pm to 2 am.  Those that purchase tickets and attend Grad Nite must ride the NMUSD bus to Disney and return on the bus from Disney.

We do have a limited supply of tickets, so it is possible that we could sell out. Tickets are "first come, first served" until they are all gone. Tickets are non-refundable once purchased. If you have any further questions, please see Mr. Walske in room A1 or Kelly Davis in the front office.

Parent & Student Volunteers Needed!

Our School Site Council (SSC) needs volunteers to attend four meetings this year. The SSC assists the school administration in decision making with regards to the spending of certain funds, offers input from a different perspective, keeps abreast of current and upcoming events at the school site.

Meetings are from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in our Multipurpose room on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, October 18th, 2016
  • Tuesday, January 17th, 2017
  • Tuesday, March 28th, 2017
  • Tuesday, June 6th, 2017

Students will earn 3 community service hours for attending SSC meetings, and another 3 hours if their parent attends.  If you’d like to volunteer to participate in our four Site Council meetings this year, please call Kelly in the front office at  949-515-3389 or email her at kdavis@nmusd.us.
